Trip Overview
Three Scandinavian capitals—Stockholm, Helsinki, and Copenhagen—tell tales of this fascinating region. Your journey between them will take you to other storied cities along the Baltic Sea as well. You'll experience St. Petersburg’s astounding Hermitage Museum, originally a private collection of Catherine the Great and now Russia’s largest art museum. You'll also discover the variety among Helsinki’s dramatic churches, from the green-domed Lutheran Cathedral dominating Senate Square to the modern Church in the Rock, blasted out of native granite and capped with a copper dome. In Gdańsk, you'll soak in the wonderful medieval atmosphere of the Old Town area, which was lovingly restored after being nearly destroyed in World War II. And in Germany, you can walk through Brandenburg Gate, the iconic symbol of Berlin that marks the beginning of the broad boulevard Unter den Linden in the city center.
